History
In 2013 Dr. Wolfram Luithardt, teacher at the School of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg (HEIA-FR) had an idea to establish an international competence center in safety and reliability in Fribourg. Companies such as Johnson Electric International, Liebherr Machines Bulle, Meggitt and the HEIA-FR, all installed in the region of Fribourg gathered together to bring this idea to reality by creating the ROSAS Association Fribourg in June 2015. The objective is to use this new and unique center for the development of robust and safe systems. The development strategy of the association is to integrate collaborators from the HEIA-FR and senior engineers to this Robust and Safe Systems center – ROSAS center.
The years 2015 and 2016 were marked by the partnership between the school and the three companies from the region of Fribourg. In 2017 ROSAS center is able to cope with intensive national and international projects in several different industrial domains such as Aerospace, Space, Automotive, industrial Machinery and Railway with the support of the
INNOSQUARE platform. Like what the smallest of ideas from which ROSAS center was born is turning into a success story and will keep growing.
