The hydrogen related hazards identified have been mitigated taking into consideration functional failures of the whole FCS to finally prove that these only leads to a reasonable risk as specified in the automotive ISO 26262 standard. As in others domain, new technologies will be accepted only if the related risk is considered as reasonable, therefore taking safety into consideration is a very important point for every beginning of a new system development. Others FCS projects have been performed meanwhile and others project are ongoing, ROSAS safety engineers collaborate daily with partners progressing in hydrogen fuel cells ensuring a safe development of hydrogen systems.
